My main reason for making select direct investments in SaaS businesses is enable other people to be successful. This was my main motivator for growing a business as a CEO. In this new phase my career I am helping the next generation as shareholder partner and active advisor.

Before making taking on a shareholder partner in a business, it is important to spend some time on various challenges over a few months. Do we like working together? Is there alignment? Are we both going to benefit for the relationship? I understand growing a business is not a without mistakes and things do go wrong. Resilience and how you handle the mishaps are sometimes more important than celebrating the successes.

In addition to general management, my particular strengths are strategy, sales & marketing (GTM) , human resources, finance and setting up processes and systems to allow managers to make data driven decisions. While I know enough about development processes, I am not an engineer. I will rely on others for advice in this area. Further, I have strong private equity relationships to help with the next liquidity event 4-6 years down the road.
